Knights of Columbus
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus in New Britain, CT, who selected the BCA to be the beneficiary at the July 10 New Britain Rock Cats baseball game. Your gift will help women take care of their breast health!
Westy Self Storage
The BCA would like to thank Westy Self Storage in Port Chester, NY for donating much-needed storage space to our organization. “We are so pleased to have the support of Westy,” said Yonni Wattenmaker, Executive Director of Breast Cancer Alliance. “With a small office, it is easy to run out of space, but we don’t want to discard valuable items that we will refer to or use again over time. The dollars we receive are critical to the life-saving work we support, and everyone wins when we can allocate that money to research, education and outreach, rather than to administrative expenses and overhead.” “It is with great pride that we are able to support Breast Cancer Alliance,” said Tim Mincin, District Director of Westy Self Storage, Port Chester location. “We are pleased that our contribution will help such a deserving cause.” Westy is open seven days a week. Call 914-937-2222 or visit www.westy.com for more information.
Hamilton College Sororities
Six sororities at Hamilton College teamed up for Pink and White: a week-long mission to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. They sold tee shirts, gift cards, raffle tickets, baked goods and candy and donated the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Alliance. The week culminated in a dance and all the events together raised over $800 for the BCA. Kristin Schwam, Class of 2013, said, "For all the sororities to join together for this philanthropic cause is a very powerful statement." We couldn't agree more. Thank you Kristin and organizer Amy Goldstein and all the others who participated in this wonderful week of events.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Burton, Sr. of Greenwich presented Yonni Wattenmaker, Executive Director of the Greenwich-based Breast Cancer Alliance, with a check for $50,000 to help provide free mammograms for underserved
women in Fairfield, New Haven and Westchester Counties. Mr. Burton, currently Chairman and CEO of Cenveo, Inc. of Stamford, has been a longtime BCA benefactor and was one of the organization's first corporate sponsors when he was Chairman and CEO of World Color Press, Inc. He was also an early member of the Alliance's Advisory Board, from 1998-2000. Paula Burton was co-chairman of the Breast Cancer Alliance Annual Benefit Luncheon in 2000 and served on the Board of Directors from 2001-2003. "The Alliance thanks the Burton family for their gracious gift and their continuous support of our organization. Because of generous donors like them, we can offer help and hope to so many women in our community who need access to regular breast health care as well as timely diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer," said Ms. Wattenmaker.
