Debbie Black
Debbie Black joined the board in 2008 after repeatedly tackling the job of arranging seating at the Annual Benefit. She lives in Greenwich with her husband, Steve, and three children. In her professional life, Debbie holds a Ph.D. in Finance. She served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Hunter College in New York, as an Instructor at New York University in the Finance Department and as an Agricultural Research Scientist at Union Carbide Corp, in Tarrytown. For the last 18 years, she has been a very active volunteer at her children's schools. She has been President of the Parents' Association at Brunswick School and also served as Treasurer and Bear Fair Co-Chair. At Greenwich Academy, Debbie was the Head Senior Class Mother, and co-chaired the auction benefit. She also served as Volunteer Coordinator, Nominating Chair, book fair Treasurer and worked in the bookstore. For both school auction benefits, she developed the online auction catalog and online bidding. While living in Rye, she chaired the Rye Council for Child Care and served as a board member.
