Richard Zelkowitz, MD

Richard Zelkowitz, MD joined the medical advisory board in 2004.  Dr. Zelkowitz is presently Medical Director of the Smilow Breast Center and Chief of Hematology/Oncology at Norwalk Hospital. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he attended New York Medical College and did his residency at Westchester County Medical. He completed his Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Brown Affiliated Hospitals in Providence, Rhode Island. He also received special training in bone marrow transplants at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington.  In 1994, he won the prestigious Fairfield County Magida Award for outstanding young physicians and he is also a recipient of the ACS Star of Hope Award. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology and Hematology, Dr. Zelkowitz is a Clinical Affiliate at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for Cancer and Allied Diseases.
