Special Contributors Event
JPMorgan held its annual event for special contributors at the home of Debbie and Steven Black. Caroline Brecker, Managing Director at JPMorgan Private Bank, spoke about the importance of passion and also noted that corporations are closely scrutinizing the effectiveness of the philanthropic dollars they spend. She cited the Alliance as an example of an organization that is deeply dedicated and spends effectively to advance its mission. The evening's speakers, both supported by the Alliance, amply illustrated how strong belief and positive results go hand in hand. Marilyn Moore, Executive Director of the Witness Project of Connecticut, which provides breast cancer outreach and case managerial services for underserved African American women, eloquently explained how the organization's growth has helped African American women change their outlook and habits to make breast health a priority for themselves and their families. Dr. Susan Boolbol, Chief of Breast Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, spoke about the importance of specialized training for breast surgeons and how such training results in vastly improved patient care. The Breast Cancer Alliance funds three surgical training fellowships, one of them at Beth Israel.
Thank you to JPMorgan for making the evening possible.
