Par for the Course
The Breast Cancer Alliance knows how to host an event for a good cause. So when it came time to think golf, the ladies took to the links with a purpose. 40 women pulled out their clubs early on a recent beautiful summer morning and headed to the Golf Club of Purchase. In the best ball-format game, the winning teams were Susan Bevan, Liz Nolan, Laura Said and Katie Gormly (low gross score) and Lisa Bertles, Helen Moore, Lea Cornel and Rosemary Ferrer (low net score). Vicky Lunt won both the longest drive and closest to the pin contests. The ladies even bought 114 mulligans - all in the spirit of raising funds to continue the Alliance's support of research, education and outreach programs. The game was followed by a festive lunch and boutique shopping featuring Walter Guerin shoes, Clare Hare skirts and Vineyard Vine golf apparel.
Said Rosemary Ferrer, who organized the event, "It was a great day - a lot of fun and very satisfying to be able to assist these important programs. We're grateful to all the people who make the choice to fight breast cancer through our organization."
